and so, the metamorphosis ends.
the adaptation begins. it takes one to realise just how much things have bloomed, grown, flourish and in some cases, shrivel and shrink. it's been three years since i met him. three years since i met them. three years since i met all of them. just as i sit and absorb the fact that this stage of my life is over, i get hit again by the time-lag. it's been 6 years since i met them. it's been 4 years since our graduation. it dawned on me there and then, how much i miss their company. each and every single one of them - all 20+ of them. the shit we got into when we "protested" for her resignation. our TV sessions in class. how we all scraped through morning POA lessons with our eyes half closed. my bitter moment en route to school in the morning. the date with someone, which somehow, made the most lasting impression in my secondary school history, surprisingly. i have yet to properly sieve through these times, and now i'm bombarded with another set of memories. how it started off stiff. how it started mixing. and how it finally fell into place. each one of us in our own cliques. i liked it how we stayed together, but never really got stuck or cemented. the attendance list for lunch almost varied everyday. noone would feel left out if they missed one session, 'cause everyday was about something new. actually, everyday we talked about nothing or things that don't need following up. we're all obviously still living in our little cocoons. sure, we've developed wings. but i guess it's the unspoken nervousness and fear that we disguise as lethargy that keeps us from our due flight. no one ever wants to leave home, for an unfamiliar feeling. somehow, i feel that this is it. this is where it all really starts. |
